Bay Street Village & Towncenter Breaks Ground
The Development is a Highly Anticipated Mixed-Use Community in Sarasota County

Osprey, Fla. (October 3, 2006) -- ‘Live, Work, Play’ is simply what it’s all about at Bay Street Village & Towncenter, and today both the community and concept made their official debuts at a groundbreaking ceremony.

More than 60 people attended the event to watch ceremonial shovels break the soil for Sarasota County’s new mixed-use development. Guests were also treated to tours of the onsite sales center, which featured a look at the overall community, including site maps displaying the more than 100,000 square feet of commercial space and floor plans for the 550 condominium residences available within the project.

“Bay Street Village & Towncenter has so much to offer so many people, and today’s groundbreaking ceremony truly is just the beginning,” says Randy Moore of Crossgate Partners.

“The Waterford Companies is excited to participate with Crossgate Partners, in what will be a new community built with new urbanism concepts and utilizing many new green type building methods that are energy saving and environmentally responsible,” said Michael Miller, President of Waterford Companies. “We believe people are looking for something new and different and that is what we are bringing to Sarasota County at Bay Street Village & Towncenter.”

Located at 51 South Tamiami Trail in Osprey, Bay Street Village & Towncenter is Sarasota County’s newest ‘pedestrian’ community with opportunities for living, shopping, working, and civic and cultural activities within the 45-acre mixed-use development. Priced from $295,000, residential plans include a total of approximately 550 condominium residences.

Bay Street Towncenter Residences, under development by Crossgate Partners, will offer approximately 50 residences; the bordering Bay Street Village Residences, under development by Venice-area developer Waterford Companies, will offer 500 condominium residences.

Also under development by Crossgate Partners is more than 100,000 square feet of commercial space available for lease or purchase, and a Village Green designated as a community area for public gatherings, small festivals and other outdoor events. In addition, a 25,000 square-foot public library under development by Sarasota County will be located adjacent to the Village Green.
